About Nooga Rugby

Chattanooga Rugby Football Club "NoogaRugby" has been around since 1978. This past decade we've been the premier team in the region winning 5 straight division titles from 2013-2017, and we're hosts to the largest social 7s tournament every July called Pitch-a-Tent.

If you're new to rugby or just new to the area, we are excited to meet you! Every Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9pm we practice at Montague Park. New players are showing up constantly, so you won't be the only one who "doesn't know the rules" (<---click this link). Come on out!

Memphis Match Summary: Tale of Two Halves

It was a tale of two halves this past weekend as Nooga Red traveled to Memphis, TN to play a matrix match against the Memphis Blues. The first half saw several Nooga players cross the try line. "When we held on to the ball and made good decisions, defensive gaps opened up and we were able to take advantage of them," said Coach Copper. "We ended up playing a lot of offense, and moved the ball well through the midfield." Club Shout Out: Memphis

Memphis. What a city. This small organization (https://memphisinnercityrugby.org) started a little while ago to try and help inner city youths get away from the negative influences and it has impacted both the region and the game in a great way! People are copying what they did across the country and we in Chattanooga are the feeling the impact directly through their men’s club. The youth grow up, have a better chance of going to college (because they focus on education as well as rugby) and whether they go to college or not, they tend to join the men’s club when they’re eligible. NoogaBlack at Huntsville Summary

Nooga Black traveled to Huntsville, Alabama on 10/13 for a Division 3 True South matchup. We traveled light with 18 players but everyone was looking to make an impact. The match started well for Nooga with flyhalf Dylan Watson getting an early penalty but Huntsville hit back with a converted try off of a kick chase. Shortly after, prop Luis Rodas and winger Victor Veloz both used their quick feet to get two tries, one was converted again by flyhalf Watson.
